Seek medical help for
emotional challenges
A chronic illness can certainly bring lots of
challenges—and not always the physical kind.
Depression is a real risk.
For starters, learning that you have a life-
changing medical condition can be stressful.
Feelings such as fear, anger and sadness are
common and understandable. If they persist,
they may lead to depression.
So be sure to tell your doctor if you’re
having a hard time coping emotionally with
your disease. If your doctor thinks you’re
depressed, treatments such as medicines and
counseling can help.

Bugs, be gone
If bug biting is intense or you
need protection for more than
three hours, choose a bug spray
with more than 20 percent DEET
(for lighter protection, choose
a lower percentage).
